There are great shortcuts from our flat to different locations in Torquay; quaint olde worlde steps lead to the town centre and the beach. Plus, if you head to the bottom of the hillside communal gardens (don’t miss the viewing platform halfway down!), you can exit through a gate, getting you ever closer to the promenade. We’ll provide you with more details should you book.
Situated on the southwestern coast of Devon, Torquay has been a fashionable seaside resort since the 19th century. Its warm microclimate and palm trees continue to attract tourists from far and wide. Local Amenities
Tesco Metro is the nearest grocery store; it is in the town at the top of Fleet Street.
If you would like to go to a larger supermarket, you have a couple of options nearby: Sainsburys, which is 12 minutes away, TQ2 7HT. Or Asda, TQ2 7AN which is 7 minutes away. Dunelm, McDonald’s and B&Q are close by to Asda. Marks & Spencer can be found alongside Sainsbury’s at ‘The Willows’. Adjoining The Willows just a little further along the road is the ‘Wren Retail Park’ with more stores including, Boots, Mothercare, Next and Outfit. There is a Post Office in WHSmith in the town centre, and ATM’s at all the major banks.
Transport
The train station is approximately ½ mile from Warren Road, adjacent to the Grand Hotel, which is close to the seafront. It takes just 15 minutes to walk there. The fastest train from London Paddington will have you arriving in 2 hours and 50 minutes – no time at all!
